Why Preboot Image writing is option when setting up an USB or External SSD?

Opal Lock provides option to the user to choose whether to write Preboot Image on the Shadow MBR of the External/USB SSD.

Preboot Image is a mini OS of the Opal Lock application that helps to unlock and boot the locked System drive.

If user is not intented to boot the System in future with the External SSD then we recommend not to write the Preboot Image on the External SSD drive's Shadow MBR.

This feature is provided to reduce the time to Setup the drive by excluding Preboot Image Writing.

This option is only provided for the External SSDs.

This option is not available for Internal drives. Preboot Image writing on the Shadow MBR of the internal drive is mandatory because Internal drives can be used to boot the system.
